Scholarship Application
This is the Montgomery County Police Alumni Association, (MCPAA) Scholarship application for the school year 2026/2027. This scholarship is intended to assist the child, stepchild or grandchild of an active, retired, disabled or deceased Montgomery County law enforcement officer in their pursuit of a higher education in a criminal justice related career or pre-law student.
Governing Rules of the Montgomery County Police Alumni Association, (MCPAA) Scholarship
To be eligible the applicant must meet the following criteria:
• Be the child, stepchild or grandchild of:
• an active Montgomery County law enforcement employee, or
• a retired or disabled member of the MCPAA, or
• a spouse of a deceased member of the MCPAA.
• The applicant must be a college bound high school senior or current college student attending an accredited two or four-year college full-time in the 2026-2027 academic calendar year in pursuit of an Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in criminal justice or related major or a pre-law student.
• The applicant must be intending to pursue a career in police related work or be a pre-law student.
• The use of artificial intelligence (AI) is not allowed in answering the essay in the application and will be grounds for automatic disqualification of your application.
• All applications must be received in complete form by July 17, 2026. Each applicant is personally responsible for meeting the application deadline. This application is not considered complete until all requested application materials have been received. Applications will not be accepted after July 17, 2026. Applications must be emailed to:

• The successful applicant will receive a $2500 scholarship to be awarded to the applicant during one academic year, distributed equally between semesters/quarters. Notification to the successful applicant will be made by August 1, 2026.
• The scholarship may be revoked, at the option of the MCPAA, if the student fails to maintain the status of a full-time student or if the student does not maintain an overall 2.5 GPA or if the student is suspended from the academic institution. The student is required to provide the Montgomery County Police Alumni Association (MCPAA) with a copy of grades each semester/quarter covered under the scholarship to prove full-time status and GPA.
